Update on Charity Fundraising

Since January 2014 Wilson Group has raised almost £6,000 for Stoke Association – the organisation’s chosen charity for 2014, by arranging various events to help raise funds. Already the following events have taken place:

  • Zip-line challenge over the Lagan.
  • Two teams participated in the Belfast City Marathon Team Relay event.
  • Coffee mornings at Head Office and at the Nursing Homes.
  • Sponsored walk.
  • Abseil down the Europa Hotel.
  • Mothers’ Day Tea Party.

Desmond Wilson, Chairman of Wilson Group commented on how the events have been progressing,

“As a responsible company we recognise it is important to give time and help raise funds for a charity each year. The response from staff throughout the Group has been amazing. The zip-line challenge over the Lagan in particular was extremely well supported. I made a point of going along and was delighted to see staff members enjoying themselves and raising much needed funds to support the good work of Stroke Association.”

Deborah McMeekin, Head Office Receptionist at Wilson Group and main co-ordinator for all events commented,

“Everyone has really got behind Stroke Association this year. We have arranged a wide variety of events to appeal to everyone. The feedback has been very positive – staff from throughout the healthcare and construction divisions have been delighted to give up their free time during evenings and weekends to help support the events.”

We have further activities planned between now and the end of the year to raise further funds for Stroke Association.
