Dear Relative / Friend

Re:         COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Further to our previous correspondence, we have decided to write to you again following yesterdays’ announcement by the Government regarding advice on social distancing.

Due to increased concerns regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, we have taken the decision to stop visits to the Home with immediate effect.

We have not taken this decision lightly as we understand that visits are mutually beneficial to both our clients and their families but hope that you too will understand that taking this cautionary action will help prevent the spread of this virus to those who are most vulnerable.

We also understand that you will need to keep in touch with us about your loved one so please feel free to contact the Home by phone.  We would however ask you to limit calls to between the times of 11am and 8pm if possible.

Please be assured that, should your loved one fall ill or in any client emergency that you will be informed in the usual manner.

Staffing Pressures

You will be aware that we expect the spread of COVID-19 to have a severe impact on our staffing levels and it is with this in mind that we would ask relatives or friends to consider volunteering to assist with the care of their loved one in the Home.  We would provide the necessary training for you in these circumstances.

Alternatively, we would ask you to spread the word to your relatives and friends that we are seeking to recruit carers either on a permanent or relief basis.  Details on how to apply can be found on our website –

We appreciate that this may be disappointing news for you however we would reiterate that our main objective in introducing these new measures are to protect our clients, staff and the general public.

Yours sincerely

Mr R D Wilson
